Somers (N.Y.) debuts at No. 25 in this week's USA Lacrosse Public High School Boys’ National Top 25. The top six teams return from last week in their same spots.
Somers has not lost since early-season defeats to No. 12 Ridgefield (Conn.) and No. 10 New Canaan (Conn.). The Tuskers have an opportunity move up in the rankings this Saturday when they take on No. 9 Garden City (N.Y.).
Regionally, unbeaten West Genesee (N.Y.) moves into the Northeast Top 10. Staples (Conn.) is off to No. 2 after nearly knocking off Brunswick (Conn.) in a one-goal loss. New Canaan (Conn.) slides up to No. 5 after wins over Darien (Conn.) and Iona Prep (N.Y.).
Urbana (Md.) and Moorestown (N.J.) switched spots in the Mid-Atlantic Top 10. Urbana continues to pile up wins while St. Augustine (N.J.) dealt Moorestown its third loss of the season. No. 2 Severna Park (Md.) won another Anne Arundel County championship with a 21-2 blowout of Chesapeake (Md.). Jack Fish scored six goals and Tim Sullivan added four. Springfield-Delco (Pa.) earned a solid win over La Salle (Pa.) as it heads into the home stretch of its season.
Lucy Beckham (S.C.) rose prominently in the South Top 10, all the way to No. 5 after winning the state championship. Westlake (Texas) drops to No. 6 after a loss in the state playoffs to Dallas Jesuit (Texas).
The rankings were largely unchanged in the Midwest. No. 5 Dublin Jerome (Ohio) dropped former No. 3 Mason (Ohio) in the biggest head-to-head matchup that affected the region. The other movers were teams on winning streaks. Lake Forest (Ill.) picked up its 11th straight victory while Worthington Kilbourne (Ohio) also moved up when it won for the eighth straight time.
The West Top 10 remains entirely the same. Cherry Creek (Colo.) is the lone unbeaten in the regional rankings at No. 1. Arapahoe (Colo.) and Torrey Pines (Calif.) are in the next two spots.
