Young has been the coach at Louisville since the school started its women’s lacrosse program in 2006. Tom Jurich, the athletic director who hired her, was fired earlier this fall after an FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball recruiting included Louisville’s program.
In 10 seasons as the lacrosse coach, Young went 106-66. Prior to coming to Louisville, she went 51-24 in four seasons at James Madison, leading the Dukes to three NCAA tournament berths.
According to The Cardinal, the players were informed of Young's firing at a team meeting this afternoon.
Assistant coach Faye Brust, an All-American player under Young at Louisville, was on the road recruiting as of this weekend.
