The first major international sixes competition since the International Olympic Committee’s announcement that lacrosse would be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics takes place starting tomorrow.

The Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA), one of World Lacrosse’s continental federations, will hold the PALA Sixes Cup from Nov. 9-11 in Kingston, Jamaica in conjunction with the Jamaica Lacrosse Association.

The 2023 PALA Sixes Cup will be the second tournament hosted by the Pan-American Lacrosse Association since 2021, and the first-ever international lacrosse tournament hosted by a Caribbean nation. A total of 10 nations and 15 men’s and women’s teams will be participating, including national teams representing Peru, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Mexico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Argentina, Dominican Republic, the Haudenosaunee Nation, and first-time participant Brazil.

The games will be produced and live-streamed through the Next Level Sports & Entertainment (NLSE) platform.

“On behalf of the Pan-American Lacrosse Association Board, we are thrilled to be working with NLSE, a leader in the production of global sport content, to broaden the reach of the 2023 PALA Sixes Cup to new audiences who can’t be with us in Kingston,” said PALA President Ann Kitt Carpenetti in a press release. “As the continental federation overseeing the most diverse and competitive lacrosse playing region in the world, PALA seeks to strengthen and support our member nations’ abilities to play, coach and officiate the sport domestically and at the highest levels.”

“NLSE is excited to partner with PALA to be the exclusive media partner for the PALA Sixes Cup,” said Liam Banks, Director of Field Sports for Next Level Sports & Entertainment. “NLSE will have live game action on our NLSE+ streaming platform and post-event programming on both streaming and broadcast. Our goal is to continue to showcase the Sixes discipline and bring high-level lacrosse to both new and seasoned fans worldwide in anticipation of the 2028 Olympics. This partnership with PALA is another step in our commitment to growing the game on a global level.”
