Carolina Chaos head coach Roy Colsey has parted ways with the Premier Lacrosse League after the two sides failed to come to terms on his contract, the PLL announced Friday.

Longtime New York Atlas assistant Stevens Brooks has been named the team's new head coach.

Brooks was in the running for the head Atlas job, but Mike Pressler was ultimately hired instead. Brooks stayed on staff, helping lead the Atlas to a PLL title in 2025.

He served as the Atlas' interim head coach for the 2023 and 2025 PLL Championship Series', leading the Atlas to playoff appearances in both — including a runner-up finish in 2023.

Brooks joined the Atlas coaching staff in 2020 after retiring from his 11-year professional lacrosse career, finishing his career as a member of the Atlas. Brooks was a two-time NCAA champion at Syracuse, two-time Major League Lacrosse champion with the Chesapeake Bayhawks and three-time MLL All-Star.

Brooks also serves as co-head coach of the USA Select U19 men's team.

Pressler has started the search for a replacement on his staff. An interim head coach will be announced for the Championship Series at a later date.
