SPARKS, Md. – USA Lacrosse has named the women who will represent the United States in the inaugural Global Lacrosse Games, a four-nation international event featuring the men’s and women’s teams from Australia, Canada, the Haudenosaunee Nationals and the United States. The event runs from Dec. 8-13, 2026 at the St. James in Springfield, Va.
The Global Lacrosse Games will feature the sixes discipline of the sport that will be used for the LA28 Olympics. The U.S. is the No. 1 ranked team in the world after winning the sixes competition at The World Games in Chengdu, China in 2025. They’ve followed up with close victories over Canada at the Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championship earlier this month in Oshawa, Ontario and most recently at the Atlas Cup this past weekend at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The U.S. is 6-3 all-time in sixes against Canada with five straight wins.
The U.S. is 2-0 all-time in sixes against Australia, winning pool play games at The World Games in 2022 and 2025. The U.S. improved to 5-0 all-time in sixes against the Haudenosaunee Nationals with a victory on Friday at the Atlas Cup.
Marie McCool, the MVP on the World Games in 2025 and an all-tournament selection at the PALA Sixes championship, is among the veteran leaders for the USA along with two-time World Lacrosse championship MVP Ally Kennedy. Eleven of the 13 players on the U.S. roster have won gold medals in their national team career and the two that haven’t are coming off of impressive USA debuts.
Jenika Cuocco earned the Titan Award after making 14 saves in a 12-6 victory over Canada to lead the U.S. at the Atlas Cup. Sydni Black had a team-high nine goals in the tournament to join Cuocco on the all-tournament team along with Kennedy.
