The last two undefeated teams in the WCLA’s Division I ranks occupy the top two spots in this week’s Top 20 poll, with UC Santa Barbara (15-0) maintaining its hold on number one and defending champion Boston College (6-0) climbing to number two. The Eagles picked up league wins over No. 19 Providence and UMass last weekend to jump two spots this week.

Florida Club, Clemson Club and Michigan Club round out this week’s top five.

No. 6 Virginia Tech (7-1) also enjoyed a solid week despite suffering its first loss of the season. The Hokies lost at No. 4 Clemson last Friday but bounced back Saturday with a pair of ranked wins over No. 12 Virginia and No. 18 Central Florida.

“After losing to Clemson, it was really important for us to recognize the things we could have done better and to make adjustments without letting the result put a damper on our weekend,” said VT club president Charlotte Plano. “Clemson is a really good team and that was a great challenge for us. We learned a lot about what we need to work on for the rest of the season.”

Plano said that the Hokies have a clear focus for the remainder of the 2026 season.

“We want to continue playing our game, working together, and improving every week,” she said. “There are a lot of really good teams that we haven't seen yet, and we're excited to compete with them and continue challenging ourselves. If we keep working hard and having fun, we can go really far.”

Similar to Virginia Tech, perennial power Georgia also enjoyed a strong bounce back weekend. The Bulldogs had not played since losing consecutive games to Clemson and Virginia Tech four weeks ago but atoned for those losses with impressive victories over No. 3 Florida and No. 10 Tennessee.

“Even though we had four weeks off, our focus was on not getting down on ourselves,” said Georgia president and defender Alex Young. “I think a few of the tough losses earlier in the season prepared us for these league games last weekend.”

Young says that the Bulldogs are growing in confidence.

“There’s a lot of great competition in our league (SWLL), so we don’t really have an easy week,” Young said. “It’s awesome to see the growth of the sport here in the South. Getting these big wins has us feeling good about ourselves and we hope to carry that confidence with us as we head into the regionals. We know that we are capable of playing at that level.”

In Division II, Montana State (9-0) maintains its season-long hold on the top spot after adding a pair of victories over Boise State. No. 2 Denver Club and No. 3 Concordia also remain unchanged. UC San Diego climbed two spots to number four this week, with Missouri ranked fifth.
