SPARKS, Md. – The Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be hosted by the Jamaica Lacrosse Association in Kingston, Jamaica at the historic campus of the Mico University College and Stadium East from August 16-23, 2026. The championship will serve as a continental qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship, which will be held in Japan.
This marks the first time World Lacrosse has required all men’s teams to compete in a continental qualifier for the world championship and will be the first time that the U.S. men’s national team will compete in an event under the Pan American Lacrosse Association umbrella. A total of 12 teams are expected to compete with the top five earning bids for the 16-team men’s world championship in Japan in 2027.
“On behalf of the Pan-American Lacrosse Association Board of Directors, we are thrilled to invite our member nations to participate in the Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship, hosted by the Jamaica Lacrosse Association in Kingston,” said Ann Kitt-Carpenetti, president of PALA. “Following their outstanding hosting of the 2023 PALA Sixes Cup, we are confident that Jamaica Lacrosse will once again deliver a world-class lacrosse experience, providing an exceptional environment for athletes, officials and fans. This event represents an important milestone on the road to the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship and will showcase the incredible growth and talent of men’s lacrosse athletes across the Pan-American region.”
“We are honored that Jamaica has once again been selected to host a major Pan-American lacrosse event, welcoming the continent’s top national teams to Kingston for the 2026 Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship,” said Calbert Hutchinson, Jamaica Lacrosse Association president. “This is an incredible opportunity not only for our athletes and fans, but for the continued growth of lacrosse across the Caribbean and the Americas. Hosting this qualifier reinforces Jamaica’s position as a leader in regional lacrosse development and provides a powerful platform to showcase our nation’s hospitality, culture, and passion for sport. We are proud to partner with the Pan-American Lacrosse Association and World Lacrosse in creating a world-class experience for every team, official, and spectator who joins us on the island.”
