U.S. Men's U21 Team Rolls Past England

Graham Bundy Jr. tied a United States record with six goals as the USA downed England 17-3 in the 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s U21 Championship in Limerick, Ireland. The U.S. moved to the top of the Pool A standings with a 2-0 record while England fell to 0-2.

Bundy’s six goals tied the U.S. record at the junior level (previously U19) set by Dan Denihan against Australia in the 1996 world championship. Bundy, a first team All-American at Georgetown this season, scored the six goals on just seven shots and also added an assist for a seven-point game.

The U.S. controlled possession by getting a a dominant performance from its faceoff unit for the second straight game. Alec Stathakis did most of the work against England, winning 19 of 22 faceoffs. In two games, the U.S. has combined to win 33 of 38 faceoffs.

Patrick Kavanagh had six points for the U.S., netting three goals while dishing out three assists. Brennan O’Neill and Alex Slusher each added two goals and an assist.

Jared Paquette got the start in goal for the U.S. and went the distance, making two saves while allowing just three goals to earn the victory.

The U.S. will have an off day on Friday before returning to action against the Haudenosaunee Nationals on Saturday at 7 p.m. local and 2 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN+. The Haudenosaunee are also unbeaten, having defeated England 14-3 in their first game.
