USA Lacrosse Announces Schedule for Denver Regional Academy

USA Lacrosse today announced its full schedule for the upcoming Denver Regional Academy on December 6-7, featuring an expert line-up of coaches and officials for the two-day educational event.

The USA Lacrosse Academy in Denver will be held at the Sonesta Hotel, with registration spots still available. The event is open to both USA Lacrosse members and non-members.

National Lacrosse Hall of Fame members Bill Tierney and Casey Powell highlight the roster of men’s coaching speakers, while current college coaches Taylor VanThof (Denver), Ashley Johnson (Colorado College) and Caroline Wakefield (Arizona State) headline the women’s coaches’ sessions.

“USA Lacrosse regional academies are intended to empower coaches, officials, program leaders, and, most importantly, the players we all serve. We’re very excited that this year’s Denver Academy features such a noteworthy line-up of speakers, from Hall of Fame coaches to current national team players, as well as many other top-tier officials and club leaders. The game knowledge and expertise that they will be sharing is sure to help inspire all attendees for the season ahead,” said Caitlin Kelley, senior director of sports administration at USA Lacrosse.

The Denver Regional Academy provides an intimate educational opportunity for coaches of every level to gain practical insight and x's and o's instruction to help prepare them for the upcoming 2026 season. For officials, the curriculum in Denver provides a deeper understanding of youth and high school rule changes and points of emphasis for 2026, as well as insights on improving game management skills.

An attendees’ social and networking event on Saturday evening is included with all registrations.

USA Lacrosse has also announced a regional academy in Fairfield, Conn. on January 17-18, 2026. The full schedule for that event, which is geared for coaches only, will be announced soon.
