USA Lacrosse Names Roster for Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship

SPARKS, Md. – The inaugural Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship is set for Aug. 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica and U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Seth Tierney has named the 22 players that will represent the United States in the event. The Pan-American championship serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Japan.

The U.S. roster features a mix of professional and college players, the majority of whom have experience in the U.S. national team system through training camps or competitions.

“We want to use this event as an opportunity to get some extended looks at players in our player pool as well as bring in some younger players into our senior team level,” said Tierney, the head coach at Hofstra University and an assistant coach for the 2018 and 2023 U.S. senior field teams that won gold at the world championship. “We’ve established a strong culture within our national team over the last decade and we look forward to using this event to continue to build our program.”

Two of the veterans on the roster providing key experience are Eric Law and Ryan Tierney. Law, who retired from a 13-year professional career following last season with the Denver Outlaws, was a member of the U.S. training team ahead of the 2014 world championship. Tierney won a silver medal with the U.S. sixes team at The World Games in 2022.

The roster also includes four players that have represented the U.S. at the junior level in world championship play. Defenseman Kenny Brower won a gold medal with the U.S. team at the 2022 U21 world championship while shortstick defensive midfielder Kyle Bergen, defenseman Shawn Lyght and goalie Anderson Moore won silver medals at the 2025 U20 world championship last summer.

This marks the first time that World Lacrosse has utilized continental qualifiers for the world championship, which will include 16 teams in 2027. Eleven of those spots have already been secured – Japan as the host nation; Czechia, England, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia from the European championship; and Australia, New Zealand and Philippines from the Asia-Pacific championship. The top five teams at the Pan-American championship will complete the world championship field.

The U.S. will play in Pool B alongside Colombia, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Pool A will consist of Argentina, Canada, the Haudenosaunee Nationals, Mexico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The U.S. opens pool play against Puerto Rico on Aug. 18, plays Jamaica on Aug. 19 and wraps up pool play against Colombia on Aug. 21. The medal round will be held on Aug. 23.
