Inducted as a truly great player, Mac Ford was an attackman for Gilman (Md) School where he received All-America (1981), All-MSA (1981), and All-Metro (1980, 1981) accolades. Ford helped his school to capture the MSA Championship in 1981. At North Carolina, Ford was an All-American first (1985) and second (1984) team member as well as All-ACC in 1984 and 1985. He received the ACC Player of the Year award (1985) and captured an NCAA Division I National Championship in 1982. Ford was also the MVP of the 1985 North/South All-Star Game. 

Ford was a member of the Mount Washington Lacrosse Club, where he was a five-time All-Club selectee (1986-1990) and a three-time USCLA Club Player of the Year (1987, 1988, 1989). In 1990, he helped Mt. Washington win the USCLA Championship. Ford was a member of the professional team, Baltimore Thunder, which won the inaugural Eagle Pro Box title in 1987. A member of the championship U.S. Men’s National Team in 1990, Ford was voted Best Attackman and to the All-World Team. In 2006, Ford was inducted into the US Lacrosse Greater Baltimore Chapter Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
