Garden City (N.Y.) Lone Newcomer in High School Boys' National Top 25
With only a few states still playing in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, there are minimal changes to the USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25.
Garden City (N.Y.) is the only newcomer to the Top 25. A spot opened for Garden City when Ridgefield (Conn.) avenged a loss to previously ranked New Canaan (Conn.) 10 days earlier. The No. 24 Trojans won their eighth straight game, a 13-5 result over Manhasset (N.Y.), to capture the Nassau Class B title.
Garden City opens the Class B state tournament June 4 against East Islip (N.Y.). East Islip has lost just three times, twice by one goal.
No. 9 Delbarton (N.J.) and No. 19 Seton Hall Prep (N.J.) added to their win totals, as each opened the New Jersey Group Non-Public state tournament with easy wins. They are the No. 1 and 2 seeds, respectively, and could meet in the final, which isn’t scheduled until June 11.
No. 17 Half Hollow Hills (N.Y.) ran its unbeaten start to 19 in a row by beating Northport (N.Y.) for the Suffolk Class A championship. They open the Class A state tournament against Section 8 representative Massapequa (N.Y.) on June 4. Unbeaten West Genesee (N.Y.) is on the other side of the bracket with the title game set for June 14.
The remaining teams in the latest Top 25 has concluded their seasons.
