Jackson Mitchell gets mobbed by Calvert Hall (Md.) teammates after scoring the game-winning goal in the MIAA championship.

Calvert Hall (Md.) avenged both of its regular-season losses on its way to the MIAA A Conference championship and the No. 1 ranking in this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25.

In true Cardinals 2025 fashion, it was another close win.

Peyton Forte scored his fourth goal with 13 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, then assisted on a game-winning give-and-go to Jackson Mitchell to defeat former No. 1 Archbishop Spalding (Md.).

That was just one of the crucial matchups last week that reworked the rankings.

Included in the changes is the addition of two new teams — Staples (Conn.) at No. 20 and and IMG Academy (Fla.) at No. 25. IMG knocked off previously ranked Western Reserve (Ohio) in the National Prep Championship.

St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) defeated Chaminade (N.Y.) 16-12 to claim its sixth straight CHSAA championship and climb to No. 4.

Lawrenceville (N.J.) rounds out the top five with wins over Deerfield (Mass.) and Salisbury (Conn.).

Salisbury leapfrogged Brunswick (Conn.) to take the No. 7 spot after winning head-to-head in the semifinals of the same event.

Culver Academy (Ind.) took a step up to No. 16 by dominating three straight games to win the National Prep Championship, defeating Hill Academy (Ontario) in the final.
