Maddy Buss was named the new head coach and general manager of the WLL's California Palms on Thursday, replacing Adams Sears. Sears led the team during its inaugural WLL Championship Series appearance earlier this year.
A 2025 USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year, Buss leads three major lacrosse programs in Southern California — LA Select, South Bay Lacrosse Club, and Mira Costa Girls Lacrosse.
Buss, a Duke alum, is the second new head coach announced for the league this week, as Emily Parros replaced Taylor Cummings Danseglio as the coach of the Maryland Charm.
The 2026 WLL Championship Series at The St. James in Springfield, Va., is scheduled to begin Friday, Feb. 27. This upcoming summer will also feature the WLL's full-field, full-season debut.
