Introducing the New LaxFit Injury Prevention Playbook

Developed by USA Lacrosse, LaxFit® is a science-informed training program designed to reduce lower-body injury risk and improve athletic performance. This comprehensive curriculum targets key areas like core strength, mobility, balance, and safe landing mechanics — all critical in preventing ACL tears, ankle sprains, and other common injuries.

The LaxFit Injury Prevention Playbook offers athletes and coaches a dynamic warm-up routine that can be consistently performed before practices and games, supporting long-term athletic development and keeping players on the field. It’s a FREE resource available to USA Lacrosse members.

“Playing lacrosse has many benefits, but we also know that like many other sports, there’s still a risk of sustaining a physical injury,” said Dr. Jason Vescovi, vice president of high performance at USA Lacrosse. “To help reduce the risk of injury, especially lower body extremity injuries, USA Lacrosse has developed the LaxFit exercise program that can be utilized as part of a dynamic team warm-up before practices and games, or used individually by players as part of their personal training sessions.”

The newly revamped LaxFit Injury Prevention Playbook includes video demonstrations of the dynamic warm-up routine that athletes and coaches can implement before every practice and game. It’s adaptable for all ages and skill levels — from youth players who are just starting in the game to high-performance athletes.

There are three levels to the program: 

Tier 1: Foundational movements for youth players  
Tier 2: Intermediate routines for developing athletes  
Tier 3: Advanced programming for elite performers

To help bring the program to life, USA Lacrosse offers several resources to support effective use of LaxFit across all levels of the game. A LaxFit eLearning course is available as a member benefit via direct link, offering valuable guidance on the program’s structure, movements, and best practices for implementation. Current USA Lacrosse coach and official members can also access the course directly through their eLearning account.
