USA Lacrosse Partners with New Balance for National Team Development Program

By USA Lacrosse Staff

SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse announced today that the organization has entered into a multi-year agreement with New Balance to serve as the “Official Apparel Provider" of the National Team Development Program (NTDP). A longtime supporter of lacrosse, New Balance is making a commitment to support the future generation of national team stars through this partnership.

The agreement runs through the end of 2024 and all NTDP athletes will be outfitted with New Balance apparel for training and competitions. New Balance will also produce co-branded merchandise that will be available for fans to purchase.

“As part of our continued growth in the lacrosse category, we’re excited to partner with USA Lacrosse,” said Doug Liberta, General Manager of Team Sports at New Balance. “The USA Select teams are the pinnacle of the National Team Development Program. We value the opportunity to pair our brand with these elite athletes who represent the future of USA Lacrosse.”

“USA Lacrosse is thrilled to partner with New Balance to outfit our National Team Development Program athletes,” said Amy Markwort, manager of the NTDP for USA Lacrosse. “When our athletes feel their best, they play their best. Together we can compete at the highest level and provide some of the best U16 and U18 lacrosse players in the country with a best-in-class experience.”

The NTDP was launched in 2019 and annually sees over 1,500 of the nation’s top high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse players participate. This three-phased program consists of regional tryouts, a national combine and culminates with international competition for the players named to the USA Select U16 and U18 teams.

The program, designed as a pipeline to help develop players for future U.S. national teams, has been a big success. Of the 42 players recently named to the 2024 U.S. Women’s U20 Training Team, 31 of them participated in the NTDP.

Earlier this summer, USA Lacrosse named 88 players to this year’s USA Select U16 and U18 boys’ and girls’ teams that will compete during the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic in Sparks, Md., the weekend of Oct. 13-15. The players were selected following a pair of national combines that featured nearly 300 of the top lacrosse players in the country. The USA Select teams will compete against international competition from the Haudenosaunee Nation and Ontario during the Fall Classic.
