Eboni Preston-Laurent, USA Lacrosse’s director for diversity, equity, and inclusion, has been named as a recipient of the DEI Champion Award by DiversityFirst, and will be recognized by the organization at its virtual National Diversity & Leadership Conference in April.

DiversityFIRST offers resources to organizations for best practices in recruiting, networking, and overall crafting of a workplace environment that sustains and supports diversity and inclusion.

The DEI Champion Award honors professionals who are passionate about creating an impact in the field of diversity and inclusion. Diversity champions demonstrate visionary leadership and commitment to fostering change for ages to come.

“I’m thankful to DiversityFirst for recognizing me as one of the 2022 DEI Champions. I am honored to be recognized alongside this group of accomplished individuals,” Preston-Laurent said. “I look forward to continuing to advocate for marginalized communities in our sport and I’m thankful that I get to do this meaningful and rewarding work every day.”

A native of Baltimore, Preston-Laurent joined USA Lacrosse in 2013 as the organization’s first manager of diversity and inclusion and has led USAL’s commitment to fostering a national lacrosse community that encourages appreciation and acceptance of all.

She has previously been recognized as one of The Baltimore Sun's "Top 40 Women to Watch," and she was inducted into the St. Bonaventure University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019 as one of the greatest players in the history of its women’s lacrosse program.
