New Canaan, Bullis and Don Bosco Join USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25
Three new teams join this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25.
No. 20 New Canaan (Conn.) defeated Fairfield Prep (Conn.) and has won six straight games.
No. 23 Bullis (Md.) defeated Georgetown Prep (Md.) to reach the IAC championship game, where it lost to defending champion Landon (Md.). Landon is the only team that has beaten Bullis in its last 11 games. The Bulls play in the National Prep Lacrosse Championship for the chance to add to their resume.
No. 25 Don Bosco (N.J.) is the third team from the Garden State in the top 25. The Ironmen have won six of their last seven games since a loss to Fairfield Prep (Conn.). Their only loss in that stretch was by two goals to a St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) team that has been on the rise lately. Bosco has wins over Georgetown Prep (Md.) and Iona Prep (N.Y.).
Most of the other moves in the Top 25 were slight. Chaminade (N.Y.) and Brunswick (Conn.), for example, each climbed a spot to No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. St. Anthony’s jumped two spots to No. 9.
Culver Academy (Ind.) slid up to No. 17 ahead of playing in the National Prep Lacrosse Championship. Choate (Conn.) is up to No. 18. Western Reserve (Ohio) used a win over previous Midwest No. 1 St. Xavier (Ohio) to gain ground.
Only one team in the top 25 remains unbeaten. Half Hollow Hills (N.Y.) still has a perfect season after 14 games.
