Andover, Notre Dame Climb in USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25
Phillips Andover (Mass.) was lifted by a historic win, Academy of Notre Dame (Pa.) topped a traditional power and three teams made their debut this week in the USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25, presented by CWENCH Hydration.
Andover picked up a huge win for its program to remain unbeaten through three games. The Big Blue edged Noble & Greenough (Mass.) for the first win over the powerhouse in two decades.
Notre Dame has continued to pick up important wins since a pair of early losses. Its latest triumphs came against McDonogh (Md.) and Georgetown Visitation (D.C.).
Visi's strong play in the loss is one reason the Cubs are one of three new teams in the rankings. They are joined by Suffern (N.Y.) and New Canaan (Conn.). Both Northeast Top 10 regulars won their openers to begin their seasons on the right foot while several other teams have slipped up lately.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.) and Manhasset (N.Y.) bump up after both have gotten off to great starts. SSSAS is still working up to full strength but is unbeaten through nine games. Manhasset has looked good during a 4-0 start.
The top five teams are all still undefeated, but that won't continue after this week. Unbeatens St. Anthony's (N.Y.) and Darien (Conn.) meet in a clash of titans this week.
