This time of year gives chances for the cream to rise to the top with championships on the line almost every day. St. Anthony's (N.Y.) is no stranger to trophy time. The Friars won their seventh straight NSCHSAA crown to close their season and solidify their No. 3 ranking in the USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25, presented by CWENCH Hydration

Penn Charter (Pa.) captured its first Inter-Ac League crown since 1998. The Quakers have won 22 straight games now and are hoping to add a PAISAA tournament title to finish off their year.

Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.) won another Prep Cup, its third in four years. Noble & Greenough (Mass.) earned its fifth straight ISL championship.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.) won the VISAA championship to add to its ISL AA title the week before and rack up a 25th win.

Good Counsel (Md.) secured its fifth straight WCAC title in dominant fashion. The title game was a 10-goal triumph.

Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.) capped its perfect season with a section championship as well.

New to the national rankings this week is Huntington (N.Y.). The Blue Devils' 9-3 win over previously ranked Ward Melville (N.Y.) earned them a spot in the Top 25.

Also notable:

— No. 2 Darien (Conn.) kept its unbeaten record intact with one game to go in its regular season.

Sayville (N.Y.) moved up one spot to No. 5. They will carry a perfect record into the postseason.

Conestoga (Pa.) opened their district tournament with a win over Great Valley (Pa.).

— Manchester Valley (Md.) added to their perfect record as they march toward a second straight 2A state championship. The Mavericks had a strong challenge in the quarterfinals but beat Glenelg High (Md.) by three goals.

Garden City (N.Y.) won their Nassau Class B quarterfinal game handily. So did Manhasset (N.Y.). Both teams have just two losses apiece.

Northport (N.Y.) moves into the Section XI Class A quarterfinals against Sachem North (N.Y.) on May 21.

Archbishop Carroll (Pa.) will play Cardinal O'Hara (Pa.) in the Philadelphia Catholic League final before focusing on the state tournament.
