Three New Teams Emerge in USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25
West Chester Henderson (Pa.) upset Conestoga (Pa.) for the second time this season, while Penfield (N.Y.) and Nyack (N.Y.) reached sectional championships as all three teams are newly ranked in this week's USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25, presented by CWENCH Hydration.
Elsewhere:
- Darien (Conn.) hopes to continue its unbeaten season with a run through the Connecticut Class LL bracket. The top-seeded Blue Wave face the Staples (Conn.)-Trumbull (Conn.) winner on June 5 in the quarterfinals.
- Sayville (N.Y.) also has a perfect season going. It try to keep it that way in the Long Island Class C final against South Side (N.Y.) on June 7.
- Garden City (N.Y.) will face Westhampton (N.Y.) in a strong Class B state quarterfinal.
- West Chester Henderson will open the Pennsylvania AAA state tournament hosting a District 1 traditional power, Radnor (Pa.). Conestoga will host Wilson (Pa.) in the first round. Archbishop Carroll (Pa.) drew a tough matchup against Bishop Shanahan (Pa.) in the first round.
- Fresh off wins over Northport (N.Y.) and Ward Melville (N.Y.), Huntington (N.Y.) faces Massapequa (N.Y.) in the Long Island Class A final.
- Newcomers Penfield and Nyack look to remain alive in the postseason. Penfield will play for the Section V Class A championship and Nyack goes after the Section I Class B title.
