Coach International Certification

The USA Lacrosse International Certification Program is designed for coaches who live internationally, but are looking to coach within the United States. It may also be used for coaches who live internationally and are looking to be certified and coach within their own country, where USA Lacrosse certification is recognized as the national standard. Participation in the USA Lacrosse International Certification Program will equip coaches with the knowledge of the game necessary to think critically about the sport and aid in the successful implementation of programs.

In order to be a certified as International Women’s or Men’s Level 1 and 2, a coach must complete all of the requirements for the applicable game with the exception of the National Center for Safety Initiatives background check. Coaches living internationally without a social security number will need to complete the following:

For International Women’s Level 1 Certification, a coach must complete:

  1. USA Lacrosse Coach Membership
  2. Women’s Level 1 Online course
  3. Women’s Level 1 Instructional clinic or virtual workshop
  4. Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach I Workshop
  5. Certify they have not committed, been charged with or convicted any crimes in any country

For International Men’s Level 1 Certification, a coach must complete:

USA Lacrosse Coach Membership

  1. Men’s Level 1 Online course
  2. Men’s Level 1 Instructional clinic or virtual workshop
  3. Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach I Workshop
  4. How to Make Contact Tutorial
  5. Certify they have not committed, been charged with or convicted any crimes in any country

For International Men’s and Women’s Level 2 Certification coaches must hold a current International Level 1 and complete:

  1. Applicable Level 2 Online course
  2. Applicable Level 2 Instructional clinic or virtual workshop

A coach must apply separately for International Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. International certifications can take up to three weeks for processing. Please contact cdp@usalacrosse.com. We will be in touch via email.
