USA Lacrosse Grant Eligibility Guidelines

USA Lacrosse strives to break down barriers to participation by providing resources, training opportunities, grants, programs, and financial support to qualified organizations. USA Lacrosse delivers grants to member organizations and other non-profit organizations who demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • A spirit of collaboration, partnership, and alliance-building in their community
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • A willingness to grow a relationship over time with USA Lacrosse
  • Experienced and committed local leadership and governance
  • Programming that serves the community and is player-centered
  • Seeks to provide services that are transformative in the lives of the athletes
  • A culture of accountability and commitment to best practices and policies
  • Shared belief in the USA Lacrosse mission; giving every child the opportunity to have a great lacrosse experience

Organization Eligibility Requirements

All organizations seeking funding, grants, or support, regardless of the amount or type requested, are required to meet the following criteria: 

  • Must directly serve youth between ages 6-19 with a priority on youth ages 14 and under
  • Must be located in and serve youth within the United States
  • Must operate an organized sport, recreational activity, or fitness program
  • Must offer consistent/structured opportunity for lacrosse play to large groups of children
  • Must deliver programming through experienced and committed leadership
  • Must deliver a minimum 6-week sports/physical activity program
  • Must follow the USA Lacrosse Native American mascot policy
  • Must be willing and able to comply with USA Lacrosse best practices and Return to Play recommendations

Applicant Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Applicants must be directly associated with the organization for which he or she is applying. Physical Education grant applicants must work for the school for which they are applying.
  • Applicants must submit a completed US Lacrosse Proposal form. Due to the competitive nature of the grant process, incomplete proposals will not be eligible for consideration. 
  • Applicants must provide USA Lacrosse with his or her organization’s completed W-9 and Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Preferences:

  • Preference is given to organizations working with both boys and girls
  • Preference is given to organizations that demonstrate an ability to reach participants in underrepresented and diverse communities
  • USA Lacrosse prioritizes awarding grants to nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation
  • USA Lacrosse prioritizes awarding grants to organizations that require all players and coaches to maintain active USA Lacrosse Memberships. If your organization does not currently require USA Lacrosse Membership to participate in your program, please contact your Regional Manager to learn more. *Note: This preference does not apply to Physical Education grant applicants
