USA Lacrosse knows that the most important people in growing our game are the dedicated individuals from coast-to-coast who volunteer as coaches, officials, and administrators with their local youth organization.
USA Lacrosse Youth Awards
Our Youth Awards are given in nine different categories. A fuller explanation of each award is listed below. Nominators are asked to include two recommendation letters of support in addition to the online submission. These letters should feature information or stories reflecting the nominee’s particular strengths, outstanding qualities as a coach or administrator, his or her contributions to the game, and how he or she has supported the USA Lacrosse vision.
Online submissions are being accepted through June 1, 2021.
This is a unique award given to someone who has founded a program, product or idea that has staying power within the sport. This individual has a positive impact on the youth game and/or its constituents and must be a current USA Lacrosse member who thoroughly embraces the mission and vision of USA Lacrosse. This award may or may not be awarded annually, pending qualified nominations.
One for All Award - Boys' & Girls'
This award honors two young adults who have given unselfishly of their time and talent to help grow and build lacrosse awareness. These individuals must be USA Lacrosse members who thoroughly embody the mission and vision of USA Lacrosse. He or she is typically a person who has volunteered time while balancing a busy schedule in order to mentor others and give back to the sport.
Excellence in Growing the Game
Given to an individual who supports the USA Lacrosse mission and vision, working effectively and tirelessly to develop lacrosse in a particular geographic area.
Outstanding Youth Official - Boys' & Girls'
Given to an one youth boys' official and one youth girls' official who are each exemplary members of the "third team on the field" and embody the characteristics of an ideal role model, teacher, and mentor. They must support the USA Lacrosse mission and vision and seek to maintain a high quality of experience for all on the field.
Program Administrator of the Year
Given to an outstanding administrator of a league or program who runs a program of excellence that upholds the mission and vision of USA Lacrosse.
Youth Coach of the Year – Boys’ & Girls'
Given to an one outstanding youth boys’ coach and one outstanding youth girls' coach who each embody the characteristics of an ideal coach supporting the USA Lacrosse mission and vision, dedicating him or herself to his or her players ,and providing the best possible lacrosse experience for everyone involved.
Outstanding Contribution to the Game: U15 and Under
The youth game's highest honor is given to a USA Lacrosse member who is a long-standing contributor to the youth game and has had a lasting impact by supporting the USA Lacrosse mission and vision. Selected jointly by both Men's and Women's Recognitions Committees.
