This guide outlines the equipment needed to play lacrosse and is geared to provide first-time buyers, parents, and players with helpful suggestions in purchasing equipment. (PDF)

USA Lacrosse maintains a current listing of lacrosse sticks that are certified for play in women's lacrosse. The list is arranged alphabetically by manufacturer.

Headgear use is optional in girls' and women's lacrosse, however, any headgear used must meet the ASTM standard, F3137.

All major rule sets require a NOCSAE certified lacrosse helmet.  NOCSAE conducts rigorous tests and sets standards for safe athletic equipment, including lacrosse helmets.

Protective eyewear is required at all levels of play in girls' and women's lacrosse, and the equipment must meet the current ASTM standard.

The ASTM, NOCSAE and SEI all maintain standards related to lacrosse equipment. See the lists of standards and approved equipment.
