Another key step on the road to the LA28 Olympics just get added for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Sixes National Teams. The USA men and women will compete alongside Australia, Canada and the Haudenosaunee Nationals at the Lexus Global Lacrosse Games from Dec. 8-13 at the St. James outside of Washington D.C.

Sanctioned by World Lacrosse, each nation will field both men’s and women’s rosters competing under the international Olympic sixes rules. and the games will be carried by ESPN networks.

“This field is the story of our sport,” said Paul Rabil, Co-Founder and President of the Premier Lacrosse League, which is running the event. “USA, Canada, Australia and the Haudenosaunee Nationals, competing for a title on one stage this December. That’s exactly what this game deserves on the road to LA28.”

“This event is a great opportunity to showcase the highest level of international lacrosse while continuing to build excitement for the sport's Olympic return,” said USA Lacrosse CEO Marc Riccio. “The response to USA Lacrosse’s Atlas Cup last year demonstrated a real appetite for these competitions, and we're proud to help bring the world's best players together on a global stage.”

This Global Lacrosse Games are one of three major events in the coming months for the U.S. sixes teams as they prepare for the sport’s showcase at the Olympics in less than two years.

The U.S. teams will begin the qualifying process for next year’s World Lacrosse Sixes Championships at the Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championship in Oshawa, Ontario from Sept. 29-October 4.

The USA squads will then welcome Canada, the Haudenosaunee Nationals and Ireland to its headquarters in Sparks, Maryland for the second edition of The Atlas Cup from Oct. 23-25.

The Global Lacrosse Games will round out the 2026 competition calendar for the U.S. national teams.

The U.S. women’s sixes team is currently holding a training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters and will regroup in late September for a training camp in Buffalo, N.Y. ahead of the Pan-American championships. The U.S. women swept the World Games and Atlas Cup events in sixes last year.

The U.S. men will also conduct a training camp in Buffalo ahead of the Pan-American championships. This will be the first time together for the sixes program since a pair of runner-up finishes to Canada in The Atlas Cup and Super Sixes last fall.
