Speaks has been the head coach at St. John’s College High School since the 2017 season. St. John’s has played in four straight WCAC championship games and won the highly-competitive league in 2017, 2022 and 2023. Prior to this role, Speaks was the defensive coordinator at Gettysburg College, helping the Bullets reach the NCAA Division III semifinals in 2015 and 2016. He has also coached at McDaniel College. Speaks is a 2002 graduate of Towson, where he helped the Tigers reach the final four for the first time at the NCAA Division I level in 2001 and then was a captain for the 2002 team.
Bell is entering his second year as the head boys’ varsity lacrosse coach at St. Anne’s Belfield after previous stints as the head coach at the Taft School (Conn.), Trinity-Pawling School (N.Y.) and the Blue Ridge School (Va.) in addition to extensive experience at the club level, most recently as the co-founder of Cav Lax Elite. More than 185 of his players have gone on to play college college, and he led Taft to the 2021 Geico High School Nationals championship. He is a 2009 graduate of Brown, where he played lacrosse.
Since taking over as the head coach at The Lawrenceville School in 2020, Posner has turned the program into a national power, including consecutive No. 1 finishes in the USA Lacrosse National Boys’ rankings in 2023 and 2024. Prior to that, he built the Culver Academy program in Indiana into one of the nation’s best, including three No. 1 national rankings. He has a career coaching record of 344-64 entering the 2025 season and more than 150 of his players have gone on to play college lacrosse. Posner is a 1997 graduate of Scranton, where he played lacrosse.
College Women
While the 2025 season promised roster upheavals (done), the chaos across the Division I landscape continues.
Moreau is in her second season as an assistant coach at Davidson College after a standout playing career at Massachusetts. She helped UMass to four Atlantic-10 regular season championships and three NCAA tournament berths. In 2023, she was named the Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year after setting career-highs with 35 goals and 15 assists. She has been involved with the USA Lacrosse National Team Development Program since 2021, serving as an evaluator at regional tryouts and the national combine since 2023.
MacFarlene is a veteran coach with experience at the high school, collegiate, professional and international levels. He has coached both men’s and women’s lacrosse, most recently helping the Episcopal High School (Pa.) girls’ program to a pair of Top 20 national finishes by USA Lacrosse as an assistant coach. He was an assistant coach for Scotland at the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship and spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Redwoods in the Premier Lacrosse League, helping the team reach the championship game in 2019.
