An electric midfielder, Marie McCool was one of the youngest players on the 2017 U.S. world championship team.
You wouldn't have known it by the way she played. Still in college at the time, McCool was right and home wearing red, white and blue and finished fifth on the U.S. squad with 12 goals during the World Cup in England. She followed that up finishing fifth on the team with six points during The World Games in Poland.
McCool finished her career at the University of North Carolina as one of the top players in the school's rich history. She was a two-time Tewaaraton finalist, the only player in school history so honored, and was a three-time first team All-American. She piled up stats all over the field, finishing her career with 246 points, 146 ground balls, 81 caused turnovers and 295 draw controls.
