The United States completed one of the most dominant runs in international lacrosse history by beating Canada 23-6 in the gold medal game of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China. It marked the sixth time in eight tries that the U.S. won the gold medal at the women’s junior level and the U.S. outscored its opponents 211-20 while winning all seven of its games in the tournament.
Eli Gobrecht has been named to the roster that will represent the United States in the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships following an injury to Tom Schreiber.
Everyone should have the opportunity to play lacrosse and feel included, accepted, and valued, regardless of their ability or disability. Some athletes with disabilities can and do participate in “mainstream” lacrosse programs at all levels of play.
For many others, it is beneficial to participate in a modified version of the game that is designed specifically for the inclusion, safety, and enjoyment of people with disabilities. This is known as Adaptive Lacrosse.
The United States used the same formula it’s used the entire tournament – dominance on the draw, relentless defensive pressure and pinpoint passing on offense – to beat longtime rival Australia 33-1 in the semifinal round of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship on Thursday from Mong Kok Stadium in Hong Kong, China.
