The 2023 USA Lacrosse WCLA Championship Tournament kicks off on Tuesday, May 9 with all 16 Division I teams playing in opening round games at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex in Virginia Beach. The Division II competition begins on Wednesday with 12 teams in action.
The four-day event features a full schedule of games each day, culminating with the Division I and Division II championship games on Friday, May 12.
SPARKS, Md. — Two of the best coaches in the history of lacrosse, Jenny Levy and Bill Tierney, will be honored at the 2nd annual USA Lacrosse Foundation Gala on June 7 at Gotham Hall in New York City. Members of the 2023 U.S. men’s national team will also be celebrated as they get ready to compete for the world championship this summer in San Diego.
The USA Lacrosse Foundation Gala debuted last year, honoring former U.S. team players Kyle Harrison, Paul Rabil and Crista Samaras, and helped raise over $650,000 to help USA Lacrosse grow and develop the sport.
Defending champion Boston College Club has received the number one seed in the Division I bracket of the 2023 USA Lacrosse Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) National Championships, while Utah Valley University earned the No. 1 seed in the Division II field.
The WCLA National Championships showcase the nation’s premier non-varsity collegiate women’s teams and will be played May 9-12 at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex and Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va.
USA Lacrosse will host the Next Collegiate League (NCL) for the second straight year on Tierney Field at the organization’s headquarters in Sparks, Md.
The NCL, an innovative league using a Sixes format with HBCU men’s lacrosse teams from the Mid-Atlantic region, played one round of games at USA Lacrosse last year, but will play its entire 2023 schedule at the facility.
The 2023 season begins this Sunday, April 2 at 11 a.m. with an eight-game schedule for the day.
USA Lacrosse and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) have announced eight training dates for the 2023 College Player Officials Academy (CPOA), a joint venture between the two organizations designed to recruit and train current lacrosse players to become the next generation of women’s game officials.
Coinciding with many of the IWLCA’s summer tournaments, the CPOA events provide candidates with hands-on training and live game action to supplement classroom instruction.
SPARKS, Md. — The journey to wearing red, white and blue begins now.
USA Lacrosse has announced the regional tryout dates and locations for the 2023 National Team Development Program (NTDP). The NTDP is a three-step process for high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse players that will ultimately end with 88 players being named to one of four USA Select teams that will play against international competition during the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic in October.
More than 90 teams representing 36 girls’ lacrosse club programs from around the country are locked in for the 2023 USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals this summer in Frederica, Del. The 14U age division is sold out and just two spots remain for the 13U and 15U age groups.
The USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals will be held July 11-12 at the DE Turf Sports Complex and will be run in partnership with STEPS Lacrosse and Top of the Bay for the third consecutive year. Teams can earn bids through historical performance or an application process.
