SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse is pleased to announce that the Vail Lacrosse Tournament is joining its event sanctioning program.

Established in 1995, the Vail Lacrosse Tournament is known as the highest-altitude tournament in the country. The event draws nearly 2,000 players (girls and boys) and 3,000 spectators to the Vail Valley to enjoy the outdoors, beautiful scenery, special events and competitive lacrosse.

“We’re extremely excited to welcome the Vail Lacrosse Tournament to our event sanctioning program,” said JP Fischer, manager of sanctioning for USA Lacrosse. “Playing in Vail is one of the biggest summer traditions in the sport and a fantastic opportunity that all lacrosse players want to experience.”

“We are thrilled to become a partner with USA Lacrosse and continue to the tradition of fun and professionally-run events for today’s youth,” said Mark Foster, event director for the Vail Lacrosse Tournament.

Events in the USA Lacrosse event sanctioning program adopt a set of operational and safety standards that cover five main areas of an event: game format, venue, risk management, event administration, and certified officials. When these practices are adopted in their entirety, events create a more positive experience for participants while receiving insurance and marketing benefits from USA Lacrosse.

The 2022 Vail Lacrosse Tournament will be held June 21-23, 2022 with divisions for boys’ and girls’ teams from fourth grade through high school. Visit here to learn more about the tournament.
