A little over a year ago, USA Lacrosse and the National Lacrosse Federation announced a partnership to bring age verification to boys’ club lacrosse. After launching with pilot events run by Prime Time Lacrosse and MADLAX last fall and winter, USA Lacrosse’s age verification program has made significant strides in the first spring and summer of implementation in concert with the NLF.
WHAT IS AGE VERIFICATION?

As a coach, you play a large role in the creation of your team culture. While athletes make a difference, you are ultimately the leader who will set the tone for the team each season as athletes come and go. It's easy to fall into certain patterns and skip self-reflection, especially if you've been coaching for a long time. However, self-reflection is one of the most important things you can do to create a positive team culture for your athletes.
Does your team or organization have an open coaching position? Are you a coach looking for a new opportunity? Regardless of which side of the field you are on, USA Lacrosse may be able to help.
We’re glad to provide the lacrosse community with an online coaching vacancies listing, free of charge. We maintain the listing with the latest information submitted directly from schools and organizations nationwide.
The town of East Aurora, a suburb of Buffalo, has a motto saying, ‘Where good neighbors gather.’
And from October through March, one of the town’s key gathering places is the Classic Rink, where ice hockey activity is nearly non-stop for local players of all ages. Scott More oversees the venue and the Aurora Ice Association.
A few years ago, More, a former collegiate lacrosse player, realized that adding a second sport during the spring and summer would allow his facility to continue being an active gathering place during the months when ice hockey was idle.
This Sunday, June 23, is National Hydration Day and a good chance to remind all lacrosse athletes that proper hydration is essential for helping you to stay in the game and compete at your best.
Did you know that 60-70% of the human body is made up of water? The body loses fluid through the skin as sweat, through the lungs while breathing, and through urination. Physical activity, especially in hot and humid conditions, increases the amount of fluid your body needs to stay properly hydrated.
The Union Pines Vikings completed a perfect 2024 season last month, capping their run with a 20-6 win against Bishop McGuinness in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) 3A/2A/1A girls’ lacrosse state championship game at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
Sitting in the stands that day was Tim Ripley, as proud as any other father even though he didn’t have a daughter playing in the game.
“I was super nervous for them,” Ripley said, “but I loved every second of being there.”
