The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego will open with one of the best rivalries in the sport. The reigning champion United States will play against Canada on June 21 at 7 p.m.

The game is the first of 87 in the tournament, which will pit 30 countries from around the world. The United States and Canada have alternated world championships since 2002 with the U.S. edging Canada 9-8 on Tom Schreiber’s goal with one second remaining to win the gold medal at the 2018 world championship in Netanya, Israel.

USA Lacrosse hits the Pacific Northwest for Ignite the Future Portland, a new initiative from the sport’s governing body that will bring a variety of events and resources to designated geographic areas. The Portland event, the pilot location for this new program, will be held at four locations around the city on the weekend of Feb. 24-26, 2023.

SPARKS, Md. —  The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee today announced that USA Lacrosse is one of five new members to its USOPC Affiliate Organizations Council. The newly admitted members, whose active status begins effective immediately, are: United States Muaythai Federation, USA Cricket, USA Federation for Sport Cheering, USA Kickboxing and USA Lacrosse.

SPARKS, Md. — Warrior Sports has signed a multiyear agreement to continue its support of the U.S. Men’s National Team Program as an official partner/equipment supplier. The partnership will include the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego, the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships and other team training activities.

SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse has named the final 23-man roster that will represent the United States in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego. The United States is the reigning world champion and will be the No. 1 seed for the 30-team event which runs June 21 through July 1.

The roster was selected following a 50-player training camp in Florida, held in conjunction with the IMLCA Winter Summit, earlier this month. It was the fourth training opportunity head coach John Danowski and his staff have had with the players since June.

The field for the 2023 USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals is filling up and just limited spots remain in the three age groupings (13U, 14U and 15U) in this prestigious national girls’ event.

The 2023 USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals are set for July 11-12 in Frederica, Del., at the DE Turf Sports Complex and will be run in partnership with STEPS Lacrosse and Top of the Bay for the third consecutive year. Teams can earn bids through historical performance or an application process.
