SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse is proud to announce the return of SheCompetes, a free virtual series taking place September 21 - 23. This series brings together prominent athletes and leaders from the world of female sports to share their experiences and insights for girls and women in sports on and off the field. Key themes include the empowerment of women in and through sport; diversity, equity, and inclusion; mentorship; and mental health.
SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse has introduced two new membership categories — a 6U membership and a young adult membership.
The 6U membership is designed as an introduction to the organization and is discounted to a price of $15 annually. The young adult category is for individuals aged 19 to 22 and is discounted to the same rate as the high school category at $35 annually.
As an athlete, an abundant amount of time is focused on training, optimizing various skill development, gaining strength, improving power, and building resilience. As a student-athlete, class attendance is mandatory, requiring a lengthy amount of time sitting. The time spent in a classroom combats the healthy movements performed in sport. Unfortunately, running around for a couple of hours during practices does not negate the 6-8 hours athletes are staying seated during class.
The following article is part of a content partnership with TrueSport, a positive youth sports movement powered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). TrueSport has partnered with more than 20 sport NGBs to promote a positive culture of youth sport with expert content and programming.
Broadening allowances for free movement and evolving penalty administration were the overarching changes supported by the high school girls’ lacrosse rules committee for the 2022 season. The changes have been approved by the board of directors for both the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and for USA Lacrosse.
SPARKS, Md. — Marc Riccio, an experienced sports, media and technology executive with strong ties to the sport has been named CEO of USA Lacrosse. Riccio was selected after a nationwide search done in partnership by the USA Lacrosse Board of Directors and Prodigy Search, a renowned nationwide leader in senior-level executive search.
