SAN DIEGO — Matt Rambo paced nine different scorers with two goals and two assists, as the United States defeated Australia 12-3 in World Lacrosse Men’s Championship pool play Friday night at the University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium.

SPARKS, Md. — Three-time U.S. Men’s National Team member Jesse Bernhardt, reigning world championship MVP Michael Ehrhardt and 2018 gold medal game hero Tom Schreiber have been elected to serve as captains for the United States in the upcoming 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego

The three veterans were voted captains by their teammates during the U.S. team’s final training camp last week in Durham, N.C.

A new series showcasing three of the U.S. men’s national team players will debut tonight on Next Level Sports & Entertainment (NLSE).

“Home Soil” follows Charlie Bertrand, Blaze Riorden and Michael Sowers through their experiences in the hometowns and the places they consider home as they prepare for the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship, which begins on June 21 in San Diego.

USA Lacrosse has named the medical personnel for the three teams -- Women's U20, Women's Box, and Men's Box -- that will compete in World Lacrosse championship competition in 2024.

Chris Hupfeldt, a longtime national volunteer with USA Lacrosse and an icon in the Philadelphia lacrosse community, died on Saturday.

Hupfeldt was an assistant general manager for the 1998 U.S. Men’s National Team and then served as the general manager for the 2002 and 2006 teams, helping guide teams that won two gold medals and one silver. Hupfeldt served as chair of the U.S. Men’s National Team Committee and also volunteered on the Men’s Game Committee for USA Lacrosse.

UTICA, N.Y. — The recent expansion of the National Lacrosse League has resulted in a rise in the number of U.S.-born players competing at the highest level in box lacrosse. That’s a good thing for U.S. men’s box team head coach Regy Thorpe, who led the U.S. to a bronze medal at the men's world box championship in 2019 and nearly had the USA playing in the gold medal game for the first time ever.

UTICA, N.Y. — In the city where its inaugural journey will end, the U.S. Women’s Box National Team officially launched Sunday. Head coach Ginny Capicchioni welcomed about 20 athletes to the Utica University Nexus Center for a player ID camp, the first of three such camps that will be held ahead of tryouts as she builds the program from scratch.
