BEL AIR, Md. – Dream big.

That’s the message from USA national team player Ellie Masera to the athletes competing at the USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals at Cedar Lane Regional Park. And she’s saying it specifically to the team she’s helping to coach – Igloo 2030 Arctic Blast in the 13U age group.

More than 700 girls’ lacrosse players from some of the top club programs in the country are competing in the two-day tournament in the 13U, 14U and 15U age brackets.

What is “clipping?”

No, it’s not another lacrosse term like crease crank, yard sale or wheels — and it’s also not a phrase your enthusiastic parent will scream from the bleachers. There’s a new phenomenon taking the youth girls’ lacrosse space by storm, and it’s all about quietly spreading positivity.

AMHERST, Mass. — The plan was solid for the Washington state team competing at the USA Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament. Fly across the country on Thursday, settle in and watch the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship on Friday in Foxborough, Mass., and then get ready to play on Saturday morning in their own games.

But the best of plans sometimes go awry.

Back in mid-February, Boston College Club opened the 2025 season with trip south to play in Georgia’s Big Dawgs Tournament. The host Bulldogs handed the Eagles a season-opening 16-8 loss, one of 12 games this season in which Georgia’s high octane offense scored 15 goals or better.

Friday in Wichita, the teams met again in the national semifinals of the USA Lacrosse WCLA championship tournament, and this time, a suffocating BC defense limited Georgia to its lowest scoring output of the year as the Eagles prevailed, 9-6.
