Mennella grew up about 30 miles east of Hofstra in Smithtown, N.Y., and played under Shannon Smith for the Long Island Top Guns.

Saint Anselm will complete its final year in the Northeast 10 Conference during the 2026–27 academic year before officially beginning the transition on July 1, 2027.
