COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, USA – World Lacrosse and ESPN have reached a historic agreement, giving the network global media rights to World Lacrosse championships through 2023. A total of 246 games across three international events will be carried exclusively on ESPN’s linear networks or ESPN+ in the U.S., and in 170+ territories via ESPN International.

The U.S. women’s national team will complete a three-day training camp in preparation for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship with a public exhibition game against a team of players from Athletes Unlimited on Wednesday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Stony Brook University.

Pre-sale tickets are now on sale for $14 and group tickets (10 or more) are also available for $10 per ticket. USA Lacrosse members will receive an email with a link to purchase individual tickets at a discounted price of $12.

SPARKS, Md. — World Lacrosse has announced the schedule for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship, which will be held from June 29 through July 9 at Towson (Md.) University, and the opening game on June 29 will feature a rematch of the 2017 gold medal game between the United States and Canada.

In 1982 in Nottingham, England, the United States proudly captured the gold medal at the first official women's world championship event, sponsored by the International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA). Since that first title, no other country has come close to the international success of the Americans, who have won eight of the 10 World Cup competitions.

But unbeknownst to many, the United States women also had a notable history of international competition long before that first world championship in 1982.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In 100 days, the top women’s lacrosse players in the world will commence play at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship as the sport’s pinnacle event returns to the United States for the first time since 2005. Originally scheduled for the summer of 2021, the 11th edition of the championship will feature a record 30 nations competing from June 29 to July 9 at Maryland’s Towson University, where the top-ranked U.S. team will be seeking to defend its title and capture its first world championship on home soil.

SPARKS, Md. — The USA Lacrosse Spring Premiere, scheduled for Jan. 4-6 in Auburndale, Fla., has been canceled due to concerns related to COVID-19.

The event was to be a key training opportunity for the U.S. women’s national team before this summer’s world championship, highlighted by an exhibition game on Jan. 5 against England.
