Good teammates look out for each other.
That’s the premise behind the Team Up Against Concussions campaign, in which players will notify a coach or athletic trainer if they suspect a teammate might have a concussion.
USA Lacrosse has partnered with the Concussion Legacy Foundation to help promote a healthy team environment in which all players are encouraged to speak up on behalf of a teammate who may be injured.
More than 90 teams representing 36 girls’ lacrosse club programs from around the country are locked in for the 2023 USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals this summer in Frederica, Del. The 14U age division is sold out and just two spots remain for the 13U and 15U age groups.
The USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals will be held July 11-12 at the DE Turf Sports Complex and will be run in partnership with STEPS Lacrosse and Top of the Bay for the third consecutive year. Teams can earn bids through historical performance or an application process.
SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse is excited to announce the spring 2023 schedule for Tierney Field, the home playing field at the organization’s national headquarters. A total of 35 games are currently scheduled from mid-February through mid-May, covering all three divisions of NCAA men’s and women’s lacrosse along with high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse.
The Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) has shared a safety alert from Hummingbird Sports that its headgear product for women’s lacrosse is no longer certified for play.

USA Lacrosse has named Ben Hunt of Auburn, Alabama as recipient of the organization’s 2022 Gerald J. Carroll, Jr. Exemplary Coaching Award.
Hunt has served as the varsity head coach at Auburn High School since the founding of the program in 2010, and also coaches local youth players to support the growth of the game in East Alabama. He was the 2021 Greater Birmingham Youth Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego will open with one of the best rivalries in the sport. The reigning champion United States will play against Canada on June 21 at 7 p.m.
The game is the first of 87 in the tournament, which will pit 30 countries from around the world. The United States and Canada have alternated world championships since 2002 with the U.S. edging Canada 9-8 on Tom Schreiber’s goal with one second remaining to win the gold medal at the 2018 world championship in Netanya, Israel.
USA Lacrosse hits the Pacific Northwest for Ignite the Future Portland, a new initiative from the sport’s governing body that will bring a variety of events and resources to designated geographic areas. The Portland event, the pilot location for this new program, will be held at four locations around the city on the weekend of Feb. 24-26, 2023.
