SPARKS, Md. — All 12 of the players that helped the United States win the women’s lacrosse competition at The World Games in Chengdu, China, will be back in uniform competing at The Atlas Cup at USA Lacrosse headquarters from Sept. 26-28. 

The Atlas Cup, featuring the men’s and women’s national sixes teams from Canada, the Haudenosaunee Nationals, Puerto Rico and the United States, will utilize the sixes format of the sport, the discipline for the lacrosse competition at the 2028 LA Olympics. 

Canada held off an epic United States comeback attempt to win the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 World Championship on Jeju Island, Korea by a 6-5 score. The victory snapped a string of nine straight World Lacrosse junior championships for the USA that dated to 1988. It was the first time anyone other than the U.S. won the event.

“This group stuck together, they were tightknit, they were gritty and they got the job done,” said Canada head coach Gary Gait. “This is the first championship at the U20/U19 for Canadians and we’re just so proud that we could be the first.”

Once again, the path to gold runs through Canada.

The United States defeated the Haudenosaunee 19-5 in the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship semifinals Friday on Jeju Island in South Korea, setting up a rematch with archrival Canada in the championship game Sunday.

Canada beat Australia 13-5 in the other semifinal, after which the United States staged another clinical performance.

Hosted and organized by Wheelchair Lacrosse USA (WLUSA) -- the world’s first wheelchair lacrosse league -- the inaugural Adaptive Lacrosse Games take place in Pittsburgh this week, with the event running all day on Friday and Saturday.

The United States cruised to the semifinal round of the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship, defeating England 26-0 to wrap up the quarterfinals Thursday at Gongcheonpo Training Center on Jeju Island in South Korea.

SPARKS, Md. — Registration is now open for the USA Lacrosse Denver Regional Academy, a training opportunity for coaches and officials from Dec. 6-7, 2025 at the Sonesta Hotel. There are sessions for coaches both days while the officials are on a one-day track on Dec. 6.

Attackman Jack Speidell had five goals and three assists and midfielder Colin Kurdyla scored four goals Tuesday as the United States defeated Australia 18-1 to finish undefeated in pool play at the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in South Korea.

The U.S. improved to 3-0 and clinched the top seed in the playoffs, returning to action in the quarterfinals Thursday at 7 p.m. local time (6 a.m. U.S. Eastern) against the winner of a play-in game between England and Mexico.

SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse has named nearly 50 of the nation’s top young boys’ lacrosse players to the 2025 U15 Youth National U17 and U19 teams. The players were selected following a national combine at USA Lacrosse headquarters in late July that featured more than 150 standout players from around the country.

SPARKS, Md. — The United States broke out of its offensive slump in a big way Sunday, overwhelming the Haudenosaunee Nationals with 10 goals in the final 21 minutes of a 14-3 victory at the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship on Jeju Island in South Korea.

Timothy Shannehan scored four goals, Jack Speidell had three goals and three assists and Owen Duffy doled out seven assists as the U.S. improved to 2-0 in the tournament.

SPARKS, Md. — The United States survived a penalty-riddled fourth quarter thanks to a last-second save by goalie Patrick Jameison, holding on to defeat rival Canada 7-6 in the opening game for both teams at the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in Seoguipo, South Korea on Jeju Island.
