SPARKS, Md. — The captains for the inaugural U.S. Women’s Box National Team have been selected. Emily Hawryschuk will be the captain while Ally Mastroianni and Kayla Wood will be the assistant captains. World Lacrosse rules also allow for an auxiliary captain in the event the captain is not dressed for a game and Kristen Carr will serve in that role.
SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse and head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein have named the staff for the U.S. Women’s Senior National Team that will represent the United States in the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Japan. Melissa Lehman, Kayla Treanor and Devon Wills will serve as assistant coaches and Jennifer Kent will be the team operations administrator.
World Lacrosse announced on Wednesday that 26 games from the upcoming World Lacrosse Box Championships will be carried on ESPN Networks. The World Lacrosse Box Championships take place in Utica, N.Y. from Sept. 20-29.

Jacquelin ‘Jackie’ Pitts, a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and one of the most impactful figures in the history and development of women’s lacrosse, passed away on Friday, August 30 at her home in Delaware. She was 87 years of age.

The United States completed one of the most dominant runs in international lacrosse history by beating Canada 23-6 in the gold medal game of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China. It marked the sixth time in eight tries that the U.S. won the gold medal at the women’s junior level and the U.S. outscored its opponents 211-20 while winning all seven of its games in the tournament.
